Bisq is a decentralized, open-source peer-to-peer network for buying and selling Bitcoin without registration, identity verification, or a central operator. Every user runs the Bisq desktop application, which itself acts as a node on the Bisq P2P network — there are no central servers to subpoena or shut down. All traffic routes over Tor by default, and trades are secured by a 2-of-2 multisig escrow funded by both parties. Bisq supports a wide range of fiat payment methods and accepts Monero as an alternative payment medium. The project is governed by the Bisq DAO, where token holders vote on rules and fees.
